Product Info
Background Survivin is a member of the inhibitor of apoptosis protein (IAP) family, which includes NAIP, cIAP1, cIAP2, XIAP, Ts-XIAP, ML-IAP and Apollon. (4) Survivin has been implicated in both apoptosis inhibition and cell cycle control. (3). Survivin expression has been described during embryonic development and in adult cancerous tissues, with greatly reduced expression in adult normal differentiated tissues, particularly if their proliferation index is low. (2) Survivin becomes prominently expressed in transformed cell lines and in all the most common human cancers of lung, colon, pancreas, prostate and breast, in vivo. (1)
Origin Survivin (C19) is an affinity purified rabbit polyclonal antibody, raised against a peptide mapping to the carboxy terminus of human Survivin.
Product Details Each vial contains 200 µg/ml of affinity-purified rabbit IgG, Survivin (C19), in 1 ml PBS containing 0.1 % sodium azide and 0.2% gelatin.
Competition Studies A blocking peptide is also available, DB113P, for use in competition studies. Each vial contains 100 mg of peptide in 0.5 ml PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 100 mg BSA.
Immunogen A synthetic peptide mapping to the carboxy terminus of human Survivin.
Specificity Survivin (C19) DB113 reacts with Survivin of human origin.
Use Western blotting and immunohistochemistry. Western blotting starting dilution: 1:200.
Storage Store this product at 4º C, do not freeze. The product is stable for one year from the date of shipment.
